Caution! ShoeRap the winter chills

It has been a funny winter here in Greensboro, NC. The kids were out of school for almost a whole week due to snow;

make that speed limit 5, that would be walking.

I dug out my old wool skirt and wore it as a neck warmer.


and today we relaxed at 70 degrees. I took advantage of the warmer weather to sport something other than snowboots (even though i love them).

hand-me-down pumps with ShoeRap, as my boss called them.

I got these bands from Hancock Fabrics and had Tran sewed on velcros (under arch) . After all, these black pumps needed some pick-me-up. My boss dubbed them "ShoeRap" &  told me I should patent and market them. Others just thought I didn't want to get run over.

Voila! Paula's handy work brought my idea to reality. I love being warm in snowy winter days, especially in these Scandanavian Reindeer Herders inspired, tattoo-ed Emus. Thank you Paula!

Clog-ing for tattoos

Ever since I saw these stitched clogs with pentacles by Marios Schwab, I've been wanting to get me some tatoo art on clogs. When cool gal Paula showed me these snow boots of hers with moose tattoos, I knew she could tattoo my clogs happy.

 

This is a before picture, we will have to wait patiently for the end product. Meanwhile, I might just spread the happiness onto my Emu boots with a shot of Moose head. No pain, all gain -- sweet.

The Great Orange

Halloween was here,

for us to be Lady Ga-Ga for a day, 

to harvest too much candy, 

and to watch Linus realize what the Great Pumpkin actually brings.

After one comes out of the sugar coma, the Great Orange Pumpkin shall see us to Thanksgiving and beyond. In lattes, soups, breads and pies... Gobble for the Holiday Season!

Frozen Finds

Within the last month, 3 new frozen yogurt bars opened up in our city. Joining TCBY and Feeney's, we now has 5 spots for this sweet frozen treat. Meet the new line-up:

Red Mango located in the Shops at Friendly, my fav - original;
Taste in Kirkwood Commons, locally owned. my favs - blueberry tart & peach;
Frozato in the North Elm Village, also locally owned. my favs - tarte, strawberry and pumpkin.

While I am enjoying new frozen finds, let's not forget our ice-cream & gelato... So cold, so sweet, viva les frozen treats!
