Belting It Out

I may only have 2 sweaters, but there is a drawl-full of belts to accessorize.

I love a versatile belt, like this one with movable rings!

A dash of sunny-dee.

This old J.Crew number has been with me since college.

Nice hand-me-down beaded flower belt.

Calico-esque

Black and tan, classic.

Got the mouse buckles from Wild & Crazy Vintage; added my own belt.

A reversable belt means one can double dip.

Pretty Chinois.

Glamorized armors, mini size.

This wraps like a present.

Get Well Soon

My throat was the dessert... The occasional sandy air flow sends me out of REM sleep, up from the bed hacking. All efforts to move my body were futile. I propped on the spud bag, blinded by achy-ness from all directions, throbbing like strobe lights on a bad hang-over, playing Shostakovtich (piano trio)in my head. Getting up, walking into the kitchen to make a protein shake cost more energy than I took in. They weren't joking when they say:" Starve a fever". It's more like "the fever will starve you".

After three days of liquids, the first thing I craved was chicken legs. Then I parade around the house in my "skinny day" jeans, beaming, all of 10 minutes I lasted until week knees and dizzy head called me to nap again. I like to nap, except all morning long workers have been drilling non-stop; my neighbor blasted the TV volume in hope to override that. Alas, true zen can exist amidst of chaos. I have either reached acceptance or letting go, both are fine with me for I did not have much strength to hold on at the moment.

Still, I managed to do a lot of nothing, but a lot in my head.

Dressing up perhaps?! That will lift my spirits! I mustered all energy to change into a few outfits. Proud by the effort, drained by the process, I am due for another nap now.

Fake zippers, real cool.

Caution! ShoeRap the winter chills

It has been a funny winter here in Greensboro, NC. The kids were out of school for almost a whole week due to snow;

make that speed limit 5, that would be walking.

snow day means play day

I dug out my old wool skirt and wore it as a neck warmer.

and today we relaxed at 70 degrees. I took advantage of the warmer weather to sport something other than snowboots (even though i love them).

a tie-dyed scarf can perk up any winter day

hand-me-down pumps with ShoeRap, as my boss called them.

I got these bands from Hancock Fabrics and had Tran sewed on velcros (under arch) . After all, these black pumps needed some pick-me-up. My boss dubbed them "ShoeRap" &  told me I should patent and market them. Others just thought I didn't want to get run over.

Je t'aime tattoo-ed Emus, et tu?

Voila! Paula's handy work brought my idea to reality. I love being warm in snowy winter days, especially in these Scandanavian Reindeer Herders inspired, tattoo-ed Emus. Thank you Paula!
